Support
Stuck? Start here. And if you are new and not technical: theGetting Started guideneeds no terminal and no programming — that is the intended on-ramp.
Using JobFoundry
- Docs first: this portal covers installation, the extension, architecture, providers, and privacy.
- Ask the community: open a GitHub Discussion (Q&A) describing what you tried, what you expected, and what happened. Screenshots beat log pastes.
- Found a bug? File a GitHub Issue with your install method (Docker, AppImage, MSIX, Homebrew/macOS), OS, browser, and reproduction steps.
Never share your .env file, API keys, or full resume in public threads. Maintainers will never ask for your keys.
Requesting a job board
Check the provider directory first. If your board is missing, file a provider request issue with a link to a sample public posting. Developers: theprovider authoring guidecovers the full process.
Coming from career-ops
Welcome — the tools are complementary. Bring your discoveries over with the import script (deduplication is automatic):
node scripts/import-career-ops.mjs --from /path/to/career-ops/data/pipeline.mdSecurity issues
Do not open a public issue. Email[email protected] or open aprivate security advisory.
Response expectations
JobFoundry is developed and maintained by a solo developer in my spare time. Triage order: security reports, data-loss bugs, broken installs, provider breakage, feature requests. If two weeks pass with no response, a polite bump is welcome — active progress is happening every day.
Supporting JobFoundry
JobFoundry is 100% free, local-first, and open-source (AGPL-3.0). If it has helped your job search, you can back independent development in three ways:
- Star the repo: Helps more job seekers find the tool on GitHub.
- Report bugs & feedback: Tell us what works and what broke so we can improve.
- Sponsor on GitHub: Fund infrastructure and maintenance to keep JobFoundry ad-free and subscription-free for everyone.
